macOS
Allow Accessibility once.
The prompt is for the pointer, the laser, and the keyboard fallback. Keynote and PowerPoint are still told directly.
What you need
macOS 11 or newer. The public Mac installer is universal. Drag Pilot into Applications.
Why macOS asks
The pointer and laser are drawn by moving input on that Mac. Apps that only listen to the keyboard still need the fallback. Keynote and PowerPoint are driven through their own interfaces, even if you are looking at Pilot.
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Turn on the Applications copy of Pilot. If you also see pilot-desktop, that is a dev binary — quit it. macOS often does not tell a running unsigned build that the switch is on. Next and back in Keynote still work. This website never sees the permission.
Gatekeeper
Unsigned builds are blocked until you right-click Open, or until the first notarized release. That is Apple’s rule, not a Pilot setting.
